A broken Badger...

Following on with Strays theme...

It takes roughly 5 pints of ale and 2 seconds to break your paw... oh, and some sort of techno induced dancing!

It takes one strong farmer to carry the broken Badger home over his shoulder...

It takes a very stubborn Badger to refuse all help for hours until such time as needing the upstairs toilet and being unable to crawl up the stairs without screaming in pain... which alerted my rescue operation by Stray and Ms M.

It takes gas and air on board a long ambulance trip to make a Badger talk even more nonsense than she was on just the beer...

Yes... you guessed it I have broken my ankle/foot dancing at a post pub house party in the village (who would have thought!) it is actually my fifth metatarsal I have fractured I believe to be precise. Ms Mmmm and Stray have been looking after me very well indeed. I will be in plaster for 6-8 weeks. Owie.

I also have not ticced any songs about love or joy since. It would seem that sad Badgers do not tic happy songs. Goodbye West End theatre Tourettes style. :(

Poor you badger. That must have been so painful. I hope you repair soon.

Sorry to read that. You ladies are a very unlucky household. Get well soon.

Poor you!
And you were so looking forward to your holiday in Ireland and you go and have a break in Yorkshire instead.
Hope you mend soon and it doesn't put you off dancing.
There's another Britain's Got Talent coming up soon and a dancing badger may just be the only animal act ever likely to win.
Hope you didn't bite the Dr. Badger's can be quite spiky when they're in pain.
I broke my ankle when I was 8 months pregnant and I only really realised it wasn't just a sprain when I couldn't get to the bathroom and that was on the ground floor not upstairs.
Maybe there's something about needing the loo that makes you accept your situation? There's something ungracious about crawling to the loo 5 cms at a time that makes you admit that medical intervention is perhaps going to be required after all!
Perhaps one of those shop mobility scooters is required?

Badger, as you are so far away, can we email messages of good will for you to print out and pritt stick to your cast?

Poor you, badger. I would hate to be in plaster for 6-8 weeks, I would be hell to live with. I have absolutely no doubt that you will be well looked after by the lovely Stray and Ms Mmm

I am rather impressed by the 5 pints of ale, though.

Respect dude!

Oh dear - I'm sorry to hear this. But I did tell you that a badger around the house is an uncertain quantity [in your case five pints].

Get well soon! And get all the neighbours to write lovely things on your plaster.

Ouch, poor Badger. All that fun and then all that sore! Sending kiss it better kisses but with no accompanying beer!

RR - Yes it was rather Owie indeed. I now have a nice new Chelsea blue cast, and hope to have it taken off in 5 weeks time.

Pierre - Yes, we have certainly used our fair share of "services" this month that is for sure.

Bevers - Good news about the holiday is my BUPA healthcare will refund all my flights and stuff! yey! So I shall go again when I am better. No doubt it would only have rained anyway. I remember when you broke your ankle when you were pregnant - did you not find out until months after or something?

Cowgirl - I would love email messages to stick on, I almost got carried away yesterday when looking online for a wash bag to put my leg in when I found an art kit for your cast, it had glitter and paints and all sorts, but then I remembered Strays fear of glitter and decided against it.

Hullababababba - I will no doubt be hell to live with as well, but at least my songs of love and joy have come back. :)

Anticant - Stray says this badger is a bit reckless - maybe she is right?

AV - thank you :) I had no idea when I headed out that evening it would end like this. No more beer for me for a long long time.

We have no idea when we head out ANY evening - or morning - how the day will end.

Be mindful of what the hymn tells us: "Live each day as if it were your last".

I'm so sorry to hear this - you've all had too much drama lately, here's hoping for more settled times.

Get well soon.

Hey Badger,

Hope you're staying sane in the cast and that the metatarsal is healing and all... but what's this about Stray having a fear of glitter??

Is there a story there?

Take it easy xx
