Let it snow!

Looks gorgeous, but for once I'm not jealous - it's cold enough out on the water without it being compunded by ice dropping in from the sky.

How's the heating holding up? xx

P.S. I tagged Ruby...

Lovely photos - I hope you have plenty of supplies in case you get snowed in.

Oh wow.

I do hope that you'll build a snowwoman.

:)

but why? would you believe that not only are we warm as toast, but the electricity bill is less than half what it was in the treehouse ?!

It's beautiful - and we were not cold at all on our walk today in our super-amazing cold-weather gear. Will blog my rain-wear shortly ...

RR - as luck would have it there was everything required to make a thai prawn curry ... which Badger is a bit of a genius at. I'm not sure how many fresh veggies are left but we've got 4 tins of pumpkin that I bought on special offer ... so if all else fails there shall be pumpkin pie!

Lovely Cas ... or maybe a snowdog? Badger did make a brief attempt at a snowman-modification to the snow-smothered hay bale by the post office. Perhaps we shall have one after all!

Stunning scenes, just what I need down here in the steaming sunshine.

Erm, let me think - on the one hand, you have a tree house with single glazing and a door which didn't fit its frame, relying on naked flame as the main source of heat, in sunny Guildford. On the other, you have a cottage with 8m thick walls, with modern (relative to the stone age) forms of heating, originally built as a fortress to protect Yorkshiremen from maraudering red rose types, in chilly dalesland. Your current altitude probably puts you marginally closer to the sun, but not sufficiently so to benefit from additional warming.

On balance... yep, I'd believe it, though I'm surprized I managed to get through all that lecci - must have been the twenty hairdriers I was secretly using to defrost myself every morning ;)

And as for not being cold on your snowy walk, I could believe that as well - I take it you wear rather more to go walking than I do to go rowing...?

Amazing pictures! Stray can you do me a favor and put snow down your own back and throw a snowball at the Doo? You know I would do it if I were there. It would make my day ;)

Hey Wendy, hope homesick in a good way and not in a bad way. Badger doesn't want her pictures to actually upset anyone!

Hi there trousers, I suspect but why was jealous really. Why else would she tag Ruby, who is so clearly hampered by her lack of opposable thumbs and rudimentary neo-cortex? Stray is helping her with it, Dr Why, but don't hold your breath!

Hey absolute vanilla, steaming sunshine? Beautiful as this is, I wouldn't pass up on a bit of sunshine right now. Are you serious about moving to the UK? You probably need to know that summer here lasts about a week, winter for about 5 months and the rest of the time we have a random mix of assorted climates. It keeps you on your toes. But that's about all. :)

Hey again but why?, I can't believe you fessed up about the hairdryers! Personally, I have no idea how any of you coped with the cold there. I think there must be just a hint of madness in you all!

Hi there Steve, we did indeed throw snow balls for the Doo, and she was most confused indeed. I persuaded Stray not to put snow down her own back, however. Stray, as you know, doesn't actually have any circulation and given that the nearest A&E is about 25 miles away I decided it was far too risky a procedure. Come and visit soon though, and we'll all watch whilst you do it. Boys are definitely best at these things x

Yep, I am serious about it Ms M and I do know all about British summers, I lived there for about six years.
