I hope the dashes don't form part of the poem: for me they're an unnecessary diversion, and threaten to undermine both the formal constraints and the startling economy of the piece.
rest assured trousers that the dashes are simply a demarkation between the byline and the content.
However, I do think it fitting that were we to interpret them as phonics represented in morse code, we'd have 'oh!' at both the start and the end. Don't you agree?
I spotted myself as one of the extended family, having just linked to this blog over at mine. Feels very good to be here and I look forward to all your postings.
On behalf of the prodigal son before his return home, I offer:
--- Famly ---
I was going to venture:
--- Why? ---
but figured it would be too self-obsessed...
P.S Can you fix my name on your sheep-board - evidently in post-viral addledness I didn't quite get the instructions to "type here"... I see I'm not alone(!)
oh Signs - that's wonderful! I think we have invented a new genre, which I'd like to call nano-poetry ... where poems can have no more characters than the words nano-poetry ...
But why? - excellent work! I think badger may be riffing on your theme shortly ... watch this space ...
Caroline - your wish is my command ;)
Bobo - please don't sue me for loss of earnings! I have no money ... I spend all day catching sheep ...
trousers - I look forward to reading your contribution!
